Challenge
After raising its Seed II Round, CipherStash needed exposure in the United States in order to sell to the healthcare and financial institutions that needed such advanced cybersecurity systems. Because the company was largely unknown, even to cybersecurity experts, the company needed an agency that could educate the market on the company’s core concepts: “security culture” and “encryption-in-use.”
The account team’s strategy revolved around two primary tactics: use the breaking news cycle to establish thought leadership for CipherStash executives and promote the company story within highly-read technology and security publications. For example, the team leveraged news of MGM Resorts International’s data breach to secure coverage and credibility for the brand and its executives and further leaned on Branded’s contacts in the space to deliver on impactful company stories.
